The track credits are taken from the cd, which specifies “Chorus (Covered Up The Sun)” for tracks 1, 2, 4, and 5, just like the main song’s 1-track US promo [r1873248], whereas the cover only uses “Chorus” (front, spine, and back). Track 3 is the unedited version of “Snappy (12″ Remix By Martyn Phillips)”.
Text on the label: Copyright Control & Screen Gems-EMI Ltd. In release [r=2960848]: Warner Bros. Music Ltd. & Screen Gems/Columbia. Also slightly different labels and matrix numbers between these two releases.
This is the soundtrack album to the film of the same name, although not all tracks from the film are on the album. Not all the tracks on the album were featured in the final released version of the film either!
Production credits: Tracks A1, C5, D2, D4 to D6 “A Matrixbest Production”. Track C3: Goodman/Thraves – Dave Goodman’s full name not used with Jamie Thraves having a production credit. Track C4: Steve Jones credited as S. Jones.
Track D3 also has vocals from “kids auditioning at Duchess Theatre June 1978”.
All tracks recorded 1978 except: A2, A3, A5 to B3, C3 all recorded 1976.
The track listing on the sleeve is incorrect. Some copies of this release came with a paper insert containing the correct tracklisting. The labels also contain the correct track listing and a message stating “Sorry about incorrect track listing on sleeve – It’s another swindle!”
The timing of 6 minutes 20 is the total time for tracks A2 and A3.
In between release by Virgin. Withdrawn first release sleeve with second release records & inlay recycled for this issue. The records do have the final running order of this album.
“Watcha gonna do about it” removed from this album, and “Who Killed Bambi?” added. Different track order for both records.
