2nd label mono variant pressings (Scranton) have ‘ASCAP’ after every title except “I Want To Hold Your Hand” (BMI). Black label with colorband. Issued with the first variation jackets with ‘Beatles’ on cover in tan to brown print. No producer credit on back cover.

According to “Price Guide for Beatles’ American Records” (6th ed.) by Cox & Daniels, this 2nd label variant was used for a sigificant part of the initial east coast production run, and were initially packaged with the first jacket variation (with no George Martin credit).

The number 3 appears bottom right of back cover indicating, Modern Album of Long Island, NY as printer of jacket.
